Home & Office Works, LLC now offers virtual/real time technical support services through your Internet connection. Using LogMeIn Rescue requires no special software or previous connection with our office, but does require that your computer is able to start up and get on the Internet.

LogMeIn Rescue is easy to use, secure and requires your permission to allow our technician remote access to your computer for a specific troubleshooting session. Using this remote service can get your problem resolved sooner than waiting for a scheduled on-site visit.

What is it?

LogMeIn Rescue is a remote control application that allows a registered technician to log into your computer and access functions remotely as if he or she were sitting in front of your computer.  These functions include the ability to observe what is going on with your computer, fix the problem, perform maintenance tasks, analyze system performance and tell you what was or is causing the problem.

How does it work?

To initiate a LogMeIn Rescue session, call Home & Office Works at 908-788-0058 and discuss the problem you are experiencing with one of our technicians.  If the technician feels that he or she can help you remotely, you will be provided a PIN code for your session and then you will be instructed to go to a LogMeIn Web site.  The LogMeIn Rescue application connects your computer to the technician’s computer over the Internet.  Once connected, you grant the technician permission to access your computer.  As the technician investigates the problem, you can see exactly what the technician is doing and you can actively participate in the problem resolution process.

At the conclusion of the support session, you or the technician will terminate the connection between the two computers.  At that point the technician no longer has the ability to access your computer. 

How much does this cost?

Since many problems can be diagnosed and resolved within a 20 - 60 minute period, the cost of a LogMeIn Rescue session is $1.50 per minute. If the technician determines that he or she cannot diagnose and resolve your problem remotely (after 20 minutes) an on-site visit is usually warranted and can be scheduled.

  • Less expensive problem resolution: A 30 to 60 minute LogMeIn Rescue session is less expensive than an on-site technical support rate.
